Diversity and Inclusion Consultant
David Mbaziira is a communications practitioner with over 25 years’ experience, first working in advertising agencies before progressing to leading marketing teams in the commercial sector. From his experience, he has managed to bring power and effectiveness of integrated brand communications and well-crafted stories to life and engage with consumers worldwide. His passions include sport, marketing and diversity in the workplace which presented him the unique opportunity to work with the London 2012 Olympics.
David began working with the charity sector in 2013. In 2018 he founded okusoka + co which focused on co-creating inclusive cultures and communicating the strategic purpose of organisations. Its clients have ranged from a wide variety of sectors including Comic Relief, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and Credico. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee supporting the Board and Executive team to make the profession in the UK more inclusive.
Over the years David has been fortunate to speak at international events and conferences on a range of issues. He was introduced to Mary in 2015 at the International Fundraising Conference in Holland and continued to keep in touch. Fast forward to the present David is looking forward to how OKC can help individuals to think differently about all aspects of inclusion, engaging with fundraisers and reaching new diverse audiences, both internally and externally. OKC is thrilled to have David on the team and is looking forward to the practical application of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion within the Not-for-Profit sector and to discovering what the possibilities could mean for us and other organisations.
