Mary O’ Kennedy, Director of O’Kennedy Consulting
Mary is Director of O’Kennedy Consulting (OKC). Established in 2002, OKC provides fundraising and philanthropy services to organisations across the not-for-profit sector. She is passionate about transforming the fundraising and philanthropy landscape in Ireland by providing fundraising solutions to charities and by advising individual and corporate donors on effective philanthropy.
Mary has over 15 years' experience of fundraising for and consulting to the not-for-profit sector. She began her career in the charity sector in Honduras with Trocáire, the Irish Overseas Development Agency. On her return to Ireland, she continued to work for Trocáire, as a Fundraising Officer. In 1999, Mary moved to work with the DCU Educational Trust, holding specific responsibility for major gift fundraising. In 2001 she left DCU to work for an international fundraising consultancy firm and in late 2002, took the decision to set up O’Kennedy Consulting.
Mary is the founding chair of Fundraising Ireland, the professional network for fundraisers in Ireland and is still very involved in their Education and Training Programme. She is a past chair of EU Consult, the European Association of Consultants to and about the not-for-profit sector and is also Ireland’s Ambassador for the International Fundraising Congress (IFC) run by Resource Alliance.
In 2013 she was presented with the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Fundraising and she was also short-listed for an IMAGE Business Women of the Year Award.
In early 2014, Mary along with business partner Bruce Tait, launched a new specialised Executive Search and Recruitment company for the not-for-profit sector Charity Careers Ireland.

Laura joined OKC in 2015 after returning home from working overseas in Spain and South Korea. She has significant experience in dealing with clients and customers in various roles across the commercial sector and is actively involved in preparing client proposals and evaluations, undertaking research and writing reports.

Nicola Scott, Senior Consultant
BA in French, Literature and History, University of Reading

Nicola had 11 years experience in project management and customer service focused roles including a senior management role in Marks and Spencers before she began working in the not-for-profit
sector as Head of Operations for Fighting Blindness Ireland in 2005.
Gaining on this experience from both commercial and not-for-profit roles she moved into consultancy in 2007 to deliver professional advice and diverse management expertise to organisations
and companies alike. Based in London, Nicola works as part of the O' Kennedy Consulting team focusing on long-term projects in Ireland and the UK with both the not-for profit and corporate sectors
Síofra Kelly, Client Relations Manager
During her degree undertaken in Business Studies and Political Science at Trinity College, Síofra studied non-profit management and began working as Relationship Manager for the start-up not-for-profit FoodCloud. Síofra joined OKC in January 2014 and is involved in preparing client proposals and evaluations, undertaking research, writing reports and developing strategies. She also has extensive experience in developing content and managing social media platforms.
